In Latin, upper arm is lacertus, and lower arm is bracchium. In Ovid's Metamorphoses, in the passage where Apollo praises Daphne, it is written, "He praised her fingers, hand, lower arm bracchium, and upper arm lacertus, which was more than half exposed." …
