Denenchofu

Japanese: 田園調布 - でんえんちょうふ

This district is located in the northwestern edge of Ota Ward, Tokyo. It is located on the Musashino Plateau overlooking the Tama River, and like Chofu City, the name comes from the fact that in ancient times cloth was washed in the clear waters of the Tama River and then served to the Imperial Court. In 1918 (Taisho 7), Shibusawa Eiichi and others planned a garden city with radial roads on the west side of Denenchofu Station, which is now on the Tokyu Toyoko Line and Meguro Line, and residential areas were sold. It is known as an upscale residential area in Tokyo. Tamagawadai Park is located at the center of the Kamenokoyama Kofun Tomb.

Kikkoyama Tomb
It is the largest keyhole-shaped tumulus in the Ebara-dai tumulus group, which stretches from Ota Ward to Setagaya Ward. It is about 100 meters long. It is estimated to have been built in the first half of the 5th century, as no clay figures or roofing stones have been found. 東京都大田区北西端にある地区。多摩川に臨む武蔵野(むさしの)台地にあり、調布市と同じように、古代に多摩川の清流で布をさらし、朝廷に調(みつ)いだのが地名の由来。1918年（大正7）に、現在の東急電鉄東横線・目黒線の田園調布駅西側に、渋沢栄一らによって、放射状道路を敷設した田園都市が計画され、住宅地が売り出された。東京の中でも高級住宅街として知られる。亀甲山古墳(かめのこやまこふん)を中心とした多摩川台公園がある。
