A town in Kawakami District, eastern Hokkaido. A tourist town including Lake Kussharo, Lake Mashu, and Kawayu Onsen in Akan National Park. Teshikaga Onsen (simple spring, 30-99°C), with its abundant hot spring water, is located in the city center along the Kushiro River. The Senmo Main Line runs through the town, and buses also run to Bihoro, crossing Lake Akan and the Bihoro Pass. 774.33 km2 . 8,278 people (2010). 北海道東部，川上郡の町。阿寒国立公園の屈斜路(くっしゃろ)湖，摩周湖，川湯温泉を含む観光の町。釧路川に沿う中心市街に湯量豊富な弟子屈温泉（単純泉，30〜99℃）がある。釧網(せんもう)本線が通じ，阿寒湖や美幌(びほろ)峠を越えて美幌方面にもバスが通じる。774.33km2。8278人（2010）。
