A type of account that shows economic transactions between countries. The balance of payments, which shows economic transactions between countries, is broadly divided into the current account balance and the capital account balance. The current account is further divided into the trade and services balance (trade balance + services balance), the income balance, and the current transfers balance. The trade balance shows the balance of imports and exports of tangible goods such as clothing, automobiles, and ICs, the services balance shows the balance of receipts and payments of services such as fares, travel, insurance premiums, information, and royalties on patents, and the income balance shows the balance of employee compensation and investment income.

国と国との間の経済取引を示す勘定の種類。国際間の経済取引を表す国際収支は大きく経常収支と資本収支に分けられる。そして経常勘定はさらに貿易･サービス収支(貿易収支＋サービス収支)，所得収支，経常移転収支に区分される。　貿易収支は衣類とか自動車とかICなど有形の財貨の輸出入の収支を表し，サービス収支は運賃，旅行，保険料，情報，特許等使用料などサービスの受取り，支払の収支を，所得収支は雇用者報酬，投資収益の収支を表している。
