Naie [town] - Naie
A town in Sorachi County in central Hokkaido. Located between Sunagawa City and Bibai City, it is served by the Hakodate Main Line and the Do-o Expressway. There used to be coal mines in the mountains in the east, but they closed in 1973. Rice farming is thriving in the flat land along the Ishikari River in the west, and agricultural processing and precision machinery production are also carried out. Area: 88.19 km2 . Population: 6,194 (2010).

北海道中央部，空知郡の町。砂川市と美唄(びばい)市の間にあり，函館本線，道央自動車道が通じる。東部の山地には炭鉱があったが1973年閉山。西部の石狩川沿いの平坦地では米作が盛んで，農産加工，精密機械の生産も行われる。88.19km2。6194人（2010）。
