Theodosius [II] - Theodosius
Eastern Roman Emperor (reigned 408-450). Son of Arcadius. He ascended to the throne at a young age, left real power to his sister and his wife, and appeased the invasion of the Huns by offering indemnity, thus maintaining peace. He enjoyed writing himself, and compiled the late Roman law into the Codex Theodosius (438).
