Communications Museum
This comprehensive museum was established to promote the spread of knowledge on telegraphs, telephones, broadcasting, etc. and to raise cultural awareness. It is located in the Otemachi Teishin Building in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo. It was founded as the Postal Museum in 1902 by the Ministry of Communications, and opened on December 1, 1964, jointly operated by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation, International Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (KDDI), and Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK). Exhibits include various postcards, stamps, automatic postal code readers, modern videophones, and small studio equipment. In addition, the history of communication is displayed in an easy-to-understand manner by era. It also held regular events, attracting children and postal enthusiasts. It was later operated by the Communications Culture Association and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East, but closed on August 31, 2013.

電信,電話,放送などの知識の普及と文化の啓発をはかるため置かれていた総合的な博物館。所在地は東京都千代田区大手町逓信ビル内。1902年に逓信省が創設した郵便博物館を母体とし,1964年12月1日,郵政省,日本電信電話公社,国際電信電話(→ケイディディ),日本放送協会 NHKの共同運営で開館した。展示物は各種の葉書,切手類から郵便番号の自動読取機や近年のテレビ電話,小スタジオの機器類など。ほかに通信の歴史を時代別にわかりやすく展示。一方で定期的にイベントなども開催し,子供や郵便マニアなどの人気を集めていた。のちに通信文化協会と東日本電信電話で運営していたが,2013年8月31日に閉館した。
