Born in 1666. A Nichiren sect acolyte under Nichiju at Honmanji Temple in Kyoto. After serving as the 13th abbot of Honmanji Temple, he became the 21st abbot of Kuonji Temple on Mount Minobu in 1604. He opened a congregation in Takagamine, Kyoto, and also participated in and won a debate against the No-receiving-No-giving school (Shinchi-douron) in Edo Castle. He passed away on October 27, 1626, at the age of 76. He was born in Wakasa (Fukui Prefecture). His secular surname was Tsukamoto, his pen name was Kojun, and his pen name was Jakushoin.
