Japanese: 勤方帳 - つとめかたちょう

This ledger was prepared annually by the Edo Shogunate's magistrate's office and daimyo's office for the purpose of evaluating the magistrate's work, and was inspected by the shogun, senior councilors, and account office. It was first created in 1733 (Kyoho 18). After all taxes were paid, it records the tax rate and rice tax for that year, whether the tax was paid or not, whether the tax was paid or not, and the increase or decrease from the previous year in various taxes, small income, and returned items. It also records in detail the return of farmland and wasteland, losses of private houses, expenses for construction work, loans for food and rice, and income and expenditures for official business. A detailed work record was submitted in advance, and from 1902 the magistrate's office began attaching a separate sheet with eight articles.

江戸幕府代官所，大名預所ごとに代官の勤務考課のため毎年作成し，将軍･老中･勘定所の検閲を受ける帳面。1733年(享保18)創始。年貢皆済後その年の高･取米永，定免（じようめん）･検見（けみ）の別，諸運上･小物成･返納物類も前年増減を記し，田畑荒地起返（おこしかえし）･民家損失･普請入用･夫食種貸（ぶじきたねがし）･公事出入（くじでいり）などを詳細に記す。あらかじめ勤方明細帳を提出し，35年から代官所は8ヵ条の別紙を添えた。
