Cholic Acid - Colesan

3α,7α,12α-trihydroxy-5β-cholanic acid. _{C 24} H ₄₀ O ₅ (408.57). It is found in the bile of most vertebrates in peptide bonds with glycine or taurine. It can be extracted in large quantities from the bile of oxen, and is used as a raw material for the synthesis of other steroids. Cholic acid bound to glycine is found in higher vertebrate mammals and is called glycocholic acid, while that bound to taurine (chicken) is called taurocholic acid. Both exist as sodium salts. They emulsify water-insoluble substances such as fats in the intestine, aiding in digestion and absorption, and facilitating enzyme action. When recrystallized from dilute acetic acid, platelets containing one molecule of water of crystallization are obtained, and from alcohol, crystals containing one molecule of alcohol are obtained. When heated to 130 °C, the crystallization solvent is removed to give the anhydrous product. The anhydrous product has a melting point of 198 °C. +37° (ethanol). Solubility: 0.28 g L ^-1 (water at 15 °C), 30.56 g L ^-1 (ethanol). Mixing an alcoholic solution with an aqueous solution of KI-I ₂ produces the blue molecular compound (C ₂₄ H ₄₀ O ₅ I) ₄ ·Kl·H ₂ O. 3α,7α,12α-trihydroxy-5β-cholanic acid．C₂₄H₄₀O₅(408.57)．ほとんどの脊椎動物の胆汁中に，グリシンまたはタウリンとペプチド結合して存在する．とくに雄牛の胆汁から多量に抽出でき，ほかのステロイドの合成原料となる．グリシンと結合したコール酸は，より高等な脊椎ほ乳動物に見いだされ，これをグリココール酸といい，またタウリンと結合したもの(ニワトリ)はタウロコール酸とよばれ，いずれもナトリウム塩として存在する．これらは脂肪などの水に不溶性の物質を腸管内で乳化させ消化吸収を助け，また酵素作用を容易にする．希酢酸から再結晶すると1分子の結晶水をもつ板状晶を与え，またアルコールからは1分子のアルコールをもつ結晶を与える．130 ℃ に加熱すると結晶溶媒は除かれ，無水物を与える．無水物は融点198 ℃．＋37°(エタノール)．溶解度0.28 g L^－1(15 ℃ 水)，30.56 g L^－1(エタノール)．アルコール溶液とKI-I₂ 水溶液をまぜると青色の分子化合物(C₂₄H₄₀O₅I)₄･Kl･H₂Oを生成する．[CAS 81-25-4][別用語参照]コラン酸
