Tsuna [town] - Tsuna
A former town in central Awaji Island, Tsuna District, Hyogo Prefecture. Its main area is Shizuki, facing Osaka Bay. Oranges, mandarin oranges, and persimmons are cultivated and shipped to the Keihanshin region. It is the home of Awaji beef, and whitebait and sand lance fishing is also thriving. The Kobe Awaji Naruto Expressway runs through the town. In April 2005, it merged with Awaji Town, Kita Awaji Town, Ichinomiya Town, and Higashiura Town in Tsuna District to become Awaji City. Area: 54.89 km2 . Population: 17,024 (2003).
