A fossil human from the Middle Pleistocene discovered in Dali County, Shaanxi Province, China in 1978. The skull is well preserved, with a cranial cavity volume of less than 1200 cm3 . The supraorbital ridges are well developed, but the face is flat and somewhat delicate. It is thought to belong to an archaic human evolutionary stage, and Chinese anthropologists believe it represents an intermediate form between Peking Man and modern Chinese humans.
