pitos

Japanese: pitos
pitos

Other major techniques include the desplante, which highlights the beauty of the figure by stopping vigorous movements for a moment, and the paseo, which shows the grace of the walk. Women wear traditional costumes, with many pleated skirts and long hemlines, while men wear tight-fitting vests and trousers. Castanets are often used in flamenco on stage today, but this comes from general Spanish dance. Gypsies do not originally use castanets, and instead often create rhythm with a finger-snapping technique called pitos. Hand clapping (palmas), which is essential for accompanying singing as well as dancing, has also been used since ancient times.
