Born: 11th year of Xianfeng (1861) [Died] Senno 3 (1911) A Chinese official in the late Qing Dynasty. A Manchu Zhengbai Bannerman. His courtesy name was Wuqiao. His pen name was Taochai. He served as a local official from 1898 (the 24th year of the Guangxu era). In 1899 (the 28th year of the Guangxu era), he became Governor-General of Huguang. In 1806 (the 31st year of the Guangxu era), he toured Europe and the United States as one of the five ministers on a preliminary constitutional overseas inspection tour, and after returning to Japan, he led the preliminary constitutional movement. The following year, he became Governor-General of Liangjiang and implemented the policies of Guangxu's new government. In 1911 (the 3rd year of the Xuantong era), he became Governor-General of the Sichuan-Han and Yuehan Railways, and attempted to suppress the anti-nationalization movement in Sichuan, but was assassinated by his subordinates. He also wrote the Taochai Jijinlu (The Records of Taochai's Jijing Lu) and was famous as a collector of inscriptions, stonework, and paintings.
