Cape Hagachi

Japanese: 波勝岬 - はがちざき
Cape Hagachi
A cape in Minamiizu Town, Kamo District, in the southwest of the Izu Peninsula, Shizuoka Prefecture. It is also written as Hakachizaki. The Hakachi Coast from the cape to Kumomizaki in Matsuzaki Town is lined with sea cliffs made of intrusive dacite, and has magnificent scenery, including Sekiheki, which has a drop of about 260m, and Senganmon, Yatsuana, and Umikongo, which have sea caves about 15m high and 10m wide. Around Okubohama, about 300 Japanese macaques are fed, making it a tourist destination. There are sightseeing boats and a highway via the Margaret Line (Minamiizu Road) from Dogashima and Matsuzaki, and the Hakachi Cape Promenade, which offers great views, runs along the coast from Kumomi.
