Hisham's Palace : The remains of a palace in the northern part of the Palestinian city of Jericho. It was built as a winter residence for the Umayyad Caliph Abd al-Malik, but collapsed in an earthquake soon after. The well-preserved mosaics on the floor, including the "Tree of Life," remain.
