This manor became the property of Shimogamo Shrine when the Imperial Court donated many manors to Kamokami-Josha Shrine in 1090 (Kanji 4). It was located in an area centered on Higashino-cho, Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, and the presence of a salt beach in the manor indicates that it faced the sea. Adjacent to the north of Takehara Manor is Tsuu Village, which became a Shimogamo Shrine property manor in the early Kamakura period and is often referred to as Tsuu and Takehara Manor, but this is because Takehara Manor was the main manor and Tsuu Manor was the new manor, with the manors being the main manor and the new manor, respectively. The jinin (shrine priest) of Shimogamo Shrine was appointed as the geshi (lower official), but it was the kumon (official official) who actually ruled the manor locally.
