The business machine industry is an industry that manufactures business machines and equipment used to systematize and streamline business operations in offices and other facilities. Business machines generally have four basic functions, either individually or in combination: document creation, copying and printing, transmission, and storage and retrieval. The main business machines include copying machines, page printers, facsimiles, Japanese word processors, calculators, cash registers, etc. Personal computers are also often installed in offices as business machines.
