Mount Takatsuma

It is one of the Togakushi mountain range on the border between Nagano and Niigata prefectures. It has an elevation of 2,353 meters. It is located in the northern part of the central Mt. Togakushi, and is known as the Togakushi Back Mountain along with Mt. Gojizo and Mt. Ototsuma. It is a troide-shaped volcano that erupted through Tertiary layers such as sandstone and conglomerate, and its summit forms an andesite rock peak. Near the summit there are communities of rowan, azalea, and alder. It takes about five hours to reach the summit from Mt. Togakushi, which is recommended for those with good walking skills. There is also a chain section, so it is recommended for those with good walking skills.

長野・新潟県境にある戸隠連峰(とがくしれんぽう)の一つ。標高2353メートル。中心の戸隠山の北部にあり、五地蔵(ごじぞう)山、乙妻(おとつま)山とともに戸隠裏山とよばれる。砂岩や礫(れき)岩など第三紀層を貫いて噴出したトロイデ状火山で、頂上は安山岩の岩峰をなす。頂上付近にはナナカマド、ツツジ、ミヤマハンノキなどの群落がある。山頂へは健脚向きの戸隠山から約5時間の行程。鎖場もあり健脚向き。
