Astronomer. After graduating from the Department of Astronomy, Faculty of Science, Tokyo Imperial University in 1920 (Taisho 9), he immediately began working at the Tokyo Astronomical Observatory. From then until 1943 (Showa 18), he worked as a technical officer, calculating the orbits of comets and asteroids. At the same time, he systematically investigated domestic materials on meteorites and searched through ancient Japanese documents to collect ancient records related to astronomy. His representative works include "Comets" (1924), "Handbook of Chronological Comparisons and a Comparison Table of the Yin-Yang Calendar" (1932), and "Comprehensive Review of Japanese Astronomical Materials" (1934). After retiring from the observatory, he taught astronomy as a professor at Yokohama National University, while also founding the Japanese Astronomical Research Association and presiding over the "Tenmon Soho" (Tenmon Soho), devoting himself to educating and guiding astronomy enthusiasts.
