Spin echo

Spin echo
A phenomenon used as one method for observing nuclear magnetic resonance (nuclear spin resonance) or electron spin resonance. In the most commonly used method, a high frequency wave is applied to a spin in a static magnetic field to rotate the magnetization by 90 degrees in a rotating coordinate system (90-degree pulse), and then a 180-degree pulse is applied t seconds later ( 2t seconds after the first pulse), and the phases match and free induction decay is observed. The name comes from the fact that the signal initiated by the first pulse is reversed by the second pulse and returns to the starting point, resembling an echo.
