Little Red Riding Hood (English: Le petit chaperon rouge) French

This French folk tale is well known because it was recounted by Perrault and included in "The Tale of Mrs. Goose" (1697). A young girl wearing a beautiful Little Red Riding Hood given to her by her grandmother meets a wolf on her way to visit her. The wolf goes to the grandmother's house first, eats her, gets into her bed, disguises himself as the grandmother, waits for the young girl to arrive, and eats her. In "Grimm's Fairy Tales" (No. 26), the hunter cuts open the wolf's stomach, the young girl and the grandmother come out safely, and the three of them stuff stones into the wolf's stomach, causing the wolf to die from the weight of the stones.

フランスの民話をペローが再話して、『がちょうおばさんの話』（1697）に収めたのでよく知られている。おばあさんからもらった、きれいな赤ずきんをかぶった娘が、おばあさんを訪ねて行く途中、オオカミに出会う。オオカミは先におばあさんの家へ行って、おばあさんを食べ、そのベッドに入って、おばあさんになりすまして娘の到着を待ち、娘を食べてしまう。『グリム童話集』（第26番）では、このあと、猟師がオオカミの腹を切り開くと、娘とおばあさんが無事に出てきて、3人でオオカミの腹に石を詰め込み、オオカミは石の重みで死んでしまう、というすじになっている。
