Sierra Nevada [mountain range] (English spelling)
A mountain range in eastern California, in the western United States. Its name means "snowy mountain range" in Spanish. Together with the Cascade Range to the north, it forms part of the western Cordillera mountain range in North America. To the east, between the Great Basin and the Rocky Mountains, lies the vast Great Basin, and to the west, the Central Basin of California. Small mountain glaciers can be seen on the high peaks, including Mount Whitney (4,418 m), the highest peak, and glacial landforms from the diluvial period can be seen in various places, such as Yosemite National Park.

Sierra Nevada [mountain range]

A mountain range stretching 80-100km east to west and 40km north to south along the Mediterranean coast in the Andalusia region of southern Spain. The geology is mainly crystalline rocks and Palaeozoic strata, and it is a folded mountain range formed by neo-mountain building. The highest peak is Cerro de Mulhacén (3,478m), which is also the highest peak in the Iberian Peninsula. The name Sierra Nevada means "snowy mountain range". Covered in perpetual snow, it forms glacial landforms such as cirques above 3,000m and moraines at around 2,000m.
