A rebellion against the Ottoman Empire that took place in 1418-20. Şeyh Bedreddin (1368-1420) accompanied Timur on his campaigns to Anatolia from Iran, where he preached a mystical doctrine with strong heretical tendencies, winning widespread support from the people under Ottoman rule after Timur's defeat. During the interregnum, he served as high priest (kazasker) to Prince Musa, but when Mehmed I gained power, he launched a rebellion centered in the Dobroca region.
