Hexacyano complexes of iron in the oxidation states II and III, as well as cyanide complexes containing both irons, are known.
[Hexacyanoferrate(II)]
Chemical formula: H ₄ [Fe(CN) ₆ ]. Commonly known as ferrocyanic acid. When concentrated hydrochloric acid is added to an aqueous solution of potassium ferricyanide (II), cooled, and ether is added, an ether adduct is obtained, which is then heated to 80-90°C in a dry hydrogen stream to obtain ferrocyanic acid. Colorless crystalline powder. Relatively stable in dry air. Decomposes when exposed to moisture, heat, or light, gradually turning green.

［ヘキサシアノ鉄(II)酸］
　化学式H₄[Fe(CN)₆]。俗称フェロシアン酸。ヘキサシアノ鉄(II)酸カリウム水溶液に濃塩酸を加え，冷却してエーテルを加えるとエーテル付加物が得られ，これを乾燥水素気流中で80～90℃に加熱すると得られる。無色の結晶性粉末。乾燥した空気中では比較的安定。湿気，熱，光により分解して，しだいに緑色になる。
