Also known as Ixora. An evergreen shrub of the Rubiaceae family native to southern China and Malaysia. The leaves are obovate and 5-10 cm long. From winter to spring, corymbs grow at the ends of the branches. The corolla is fleshy, with a thin tube 2-3 cm long and four lobes at the end. The flower colors are crimson, orange, yellow, and white. It is grown in greenhouses and is suitable for potted plants, and is propagated by cuttings. イクソラとも。中国南部〜マレーシアに原産するアカネ科の常緑低木。葉は倒卵形で長さ５〜10cm。冬〜春，枝の先に散房花序をつける。花冠は肉質で筒部が細くて長さ２〜3cm，先が４裂し，花色は朱紅，だいだい，黄，白がある。鉢植向きで温室栽培され，さし木でふやす。日本には江戸時代に渡来。
