An evergreen shrub of the Apocynaceae family. It is used to make garlands, and its fruit and sap are poisonous, so they are used in poison arrows. It is fragrant and grows in clusters of snow-white, five-petaled flowers, so named because the flower resembles the sandanca (sandanca). It is native to South Africa. The leaves are leathery green, elliptical or oblong, pointed at the tip, about 10 cm long, and grow in pairs. The petioles are short. The calyx is deeply lobed with five petals, and the flowers are tubular funnel-shaped, star-shaped at the tip, and about 1.7 cm in diameter. They grow in multiple spikes, 5 to 7.5 cm long.
