Japanese: 中山[町] - なかやま

A town in Higashimurayama County, central Yamagata Prefecture. Its center is Nagasaki, located along the Mogami River in the western Yamagata Basin, and it developed as a castle town and river port. Its main industries are rice and fruit cultivation, and it also produces flowers and vegetables. Canned goods and hosiery are manufactured here. The Aterazawa Line runs through the town. The town sustained damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake. 31.15 ^km2 . 12,015 people (2010).

An old town in Saihaku District, western Tottori Prefecture. It occupies the coast of the Sea of Japan and the northern slope of Mt. Daisen. Shimoichi, which is on the San'in Main Line, was a post town in the early Edo period. Rice is grown, dairy cows are raised, and Nijisseiki pears are cultivated. Mt. Senjo is on the eastern border. In March 2005, it was incorporated into Nawa Town and Daisen Town in Saihaku District. 60.32 ^km2 . 5,288 people (2003).

A former town in Iyo District, central Ehime Prefecture. It occupies the upper reaches of the Nakayama River, a tributary of the Hiji River, and the surrounding mountainous areas. It has long been known as a famous producer of Nakayama chestnuts. It also produces tobacco leaves, shiitake mushrooms, and mandarin oranges. The Yosan Line runs through the town. In April 2005, it was incorporated into Futami Town, Iyo District, and Iyo City. 75.42 ^km2 . 4,569 people (2003).
