A town in Higashimurayama County, central Yamagata Prefecture. Its center is Nagasaki, located along the Mogami River in the western Yamagata Basin, and it developed as a castle town and river port. Its main industries are rice and fruit cultivation, and it also produces flowers and vegetables. Canned goods and hosiery are manufactured here. The Aterazawa Line runs through the town. The town sustained damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake. 31.15 km2 . 12,015 people (2010).

愛媛県中部,伊予郡の旧町。肱(ひじ)川の支流中山川の上流域と周辺山地を占める。古くから知られた中山クリの名産地。葉タバコ,シイタケ,ミカンも産する。予讃線が通じる。2005年4月伊予郡双海町と伊予市へ編入。75.42km2。4569人(2003)。
