Artaxerxes [II] - Artaxerxes
King of the Achaemenid Empire of Persia (reigned 404-359 BC). Son of Darius II. He eliminated Sparta's interference in Asia Minor with the Treaty of Antalcidas, but his invasion of Egypt was a failure, and Persia rapidly declined after that. Xenophon's Anabasis details the suppression of a rebellion by his brother Cyrus.
