A monthly magazine launched by Baibunsha in January 1914 by Sakai Toshihiko. It was published in tabloid format up to issue 16. In the midst of the severe oppression following the High Treason Incident, it aimed to foster communication and solidarity among socialists through humor and irony, and introduced the latest news from socialists around the country. From issue 17 onwards, it became a pamphlet, and the content gradually became more clearly socialist in its tendencies, including a partial translation of Bebel's "On Women." With the 19th issue (August 1915) it was renamed "New Society," and became a theoretical magazine for Taisho socialism.
