Oxytetracycline hydrochloride is a bright yellow, odorless crystal that dissolves well in water and is quite stable in water (no loss of potency observed when stored at 5°C for 30 days at pH 3-9). Doxycycline hydrochloride was developed with the characteristics that it has a stronger antibacterial activity than tetracycline (1-4 times) and lasts longer in the body.
