The Thirty-Six Man Collection

Japanese: 三十六人集 - さんじゅうろくにんしゅう

A collection of the Thirty-six Immortal Poets' anthologies, collected in Fujiwara no Kinto's Thirty-six Immortal Poets' Anthology. Also known as the Anthology of Immortal Poets. It is believed to have been created in the mid-11th century, and the editor is unknown. There are many extant versions, but the Nishi Honganji version, which was created in the early 12th century, is the most reliable text, and is also famous for the lavish use of paper and the beauty of the calligraphy. It is a gorgeous set decorated with gold and silver leaf, ink flow, and tsugi paper, and the ancient calligraphy edition Ishiyama-kiri was divided from it in 1929.

藤原公任の《三十六人撰》に収められた，三十六歌仙の各家集の集成。《歌仙家集》とも。成立は11世紀中頃と考えられており，編者不詳。伝本の種類は多いが，12世紀初頭の成立という西本願寺本が本文の信頼度も高く，料紙の豪華さ，書の美しさでも名高い。金銀切箔，墨流し，継紙などの装飾のある華麗な揃本で，古筆切の《石山切》は1929年にこれを分割したもの。
