Zhu Yi-zun

A Chinese literary figure of the Qing Dynasty. Born in Xiushui (Jiaxing County), Zhejiang Province. His name was Xijiang (Shakucho) and his pen name was Chikuda (Chikuda). He did not enter the government service at first, but travelled around the country while studying, and later worked on compiling the History of the Ming as a member of the Hanlin Academy. In 1692, he resigned from his post and returned home, spending the rest of his life writing and enjoying leisure. His great work, Considering the Classics (300 volumes), records the history and survival of the classics of the past. His poetry is of a spirited style, and he has written many excellent long poems, which earned him the title of "King of the South and the North." He advocated that the Southern Song Dynasty's Jiang Kui and Zhang Yan should be the masters of ci, and compiled the Cizu as a guide for new ci. He was the founder of the so-called Zhejiang-Xi school, and was skilled in rhetoric and dictionary use, and excelled in poetry and anthology. His "Zhu Chencunci," which he combined with the words of Chen Weisong of the Yangxian school, was widely circulated at the time. In addition to the poetry anthology "Baoshutingshu" (80 volumes), he also edited and published "Ryusha Jibun," which describes the history and geography of Beijing, and "Ming Shi Zhu," an anthology of Ming poetry.

中国，清の文学者。浙江省秀水 (嘉興県) の人。字，錫鬯 (しゃくちょう) 。号，竹だ (ちくだ) 。初め仕官せず各地を遍歴しつつ学問に励み，のち翰林院検討として『明史』編纂に従事，康煕 31 (1692) 年辞職して帰郷し，余生を著述と自適とに過した。大著『経義考』 (300巻) は，歴代の経書の沿革存亡を記したもの。詩は気骨ある風格で，長編の佳作があり，王士禎と「南朱北王」と並称された。詞は南宋の姜夔 (きょうき) ，張炎を宗とすべきことを説き，『詞綜』を編んで新しい詞の指針とした。いわゆる浙西詞派の祖であり，巧みな修辞と用典で，詠物詞にすぐれ，陽羨派の陳維崧 (ちんいすう) の詞と合刻した『朱陳村詞』は当時広く流布した。詩文集『曝書亭 (ばくしょてい) 集』 (80巻) のほか，北京の歴史，地理を記した『日下旧聞』，明詩の選集『明詩綜』などの編著がある。
