A former town in Mitoyo County, western Kagawa Prefecture. Occupying the midstream of the Saita River, the town cultivates rice, tobacco, and vegetables, as well as persimmons, mandarin oranges, and other fruits. The Dosan Line and National Route 32 connect to Tokushima Prefecture at Inohana Pass. In January 2006, the town merged with the towns of Takase, Yamamoto, Mino, Toyonaka, Takuma, and Nio in Mitoyo County to become a city. 47.16 km2 . 4,695 people (2003). 香川県西部,三豊郡の旧町。財田川中流域を占め,米作,タバコ・野菜栽培を行うほか,カキ・ミカンなどの果樹も産する。土讃線,国道32号線が猪鼻(いのはな)峠で徳島県へ通じる。2006年1月,三豊郡高瀬町,山本町,三野町,豊中町,詫間町,仁尾町と合併し市制,三豊市となる。47.16km2。4695人(2003)。
