It was popular in 1933 and 1934. The name comes from the fact that the company name "Kobayashi" is pronounced "Corinth," which was likened to the name of an ancient Greek city. 〘名〙 (商標名Corinth game) 球を一個ずつ棒で突き、たくさんの釘を植えて穴をあけたゆるい傾斜の盤上を走らせ、穴へはいった球の多少によって勝負を争う遊戯。※津軽の野づら(1935)〈深田久彌〉母「母さん、それ、あれがレビュウ、これがコリント・ゲーム、かうするのよ」[語誌]薬品製造会社の小林脳行が、従来のゲームに改良を加えて昭和八年(一九三三)に発売した遊具の名。同八、九年に流行した。名前の由来は、社名の「小林」を「コリン」と読み、それを古代ギリシアの都市名になぞらえたところから。
