A town in Mie County in the northern part of Mie Prefecture. The town center is the Jin'ya-cho of the Hijikata clan, and is served by the Kintetsu Yunoyama Line. The town is mainly agricultural, but in recent years an industrial complex has been developed and businesses have moved in. The western part is mountainous, part of the Suzuka Mountains, and is home to Mt. Gozaisho and Yunoyama Onsen. Area: 107.01 km2 . Population: 39,978 (2010). 三重県北部，三重郡の町。中心市街は土方(ひじかた)氏の陣屋町で近鉄湯の山線が通じる。農業を行うが，近年，工業団地が造成され，企業も進出。西部は鈴鹿山脈の山地で，御在所山や湯の山温泉がある。107.01km2。３万9978人（2010）。
