Hyogo dormitory - Hyogo Ryo

Japanese:
Hyogo dormitory - Hyogo Ryo

A military office in the Nara period. It is divided into left and right. Its Japanese name is "Tsuwamono no Kura no Tsukasa". It was in charge of the Hyogo ceremonial guards, the storage of weapons, and their accounting. It was made up of 1 Kami, 1 Suke, 1 Daijo, 1 Shojo, 1 Daisakan, 1 Shozoku, 20 Shibu, and 2 Jikitei. Two Shisho were newly appointed in the early Heian period. The Hyogo ceremonial guards were used in the New Year's Day ceremonies and banquets for foreign visitors held in the imperial capital. The weapons were thought to have included various military implements for group battles, and the Hyogo-ryo had a heavy responsibility to manage the weapons, and the accounting of the weapons and weapons required imperial order and was under strict control. Furthermore, the Nai-Hyogo-tsukasa was also established, and there were various theories regarding the relationship between the Hyogo-ryo and the Nai-Hyogo-tsukasa during the Heian period, such as whether there were two identical organizations established in preparation for emergencies, or whether there were separate systems for the accounting of general weapons and weapons directly related to the Emperor. It is assumed that after the enactment of the Ritsuryo, the purpose of the Ritsuryo changed with regard to the operation of the Hyogo-ryo.
