A state in New England, USA. Abbreviated as Conn. or CT. The Connecticut River runs north to south through the center of the state, emptying into Long Island Sound. It has a lot of hilly land. It is primarily agricultural, known for tobacco production, and is also active in dairy farming and poultry farming. It also produces jet engines, helicopters, office equipment, and other industries. It has many higher education institutions, including Yale University, and the standard of living of its residents is among the highest in the nation.
