A private women's university. It originated as Atomi School, which was founded by Atomi Kakei in Sarugakucho, Kanda, Tokyo in 1875. It became Atomi Girls' School in 1913 and Atomi Girls' High School in 1944. After the establishment of Atomi Gakuen Women's Junior College in 1950, a four-year university with a Faculty of Letters was established in Niiza, Saitama Prefecture in 1965. The Faculty of Management was opened in 2002, and a graduate school was opened in 2005. The university's headquarters are located in Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo. 私立女子大学。1875年に跡見花蹊が東京神田猿楽町に設立した跡見学校を起源とする。1913年跡見女学校,1944年跡見高等女学校となり,1950年跡見学園女子短期大学設立を経て,1965年埼玉県新座市に 4年制大学を設置,文学部を置いた。2002年マネジメント学部を開設。2005年に大学院を開設。本部所在地は東京都文京区。
