Shimada Tadaomi

Japanese: 島田忠臣 - しまだのただおみ

828－892 An official and Chinese poet in the early Heian period.
Born in the 5th year of Tencho. Grandson of Shimada Kiyota. Served as Junior Gaiki, Dazai no Shoni, and Denyaku no Kami. In 859 and 883, he received envoys from Bohai. He excelled in Chinese poetry in the style of Bai Juyi, and wrote a collection of poems called "Tenshikashu." He was close to Sugawara no Michizane, and his daughter Nobukiko became Michizane's wife. He died in the 4th year of Kanpyo. He was 65 years old. His pen name was Den-Tatsuon.

天長5年生まれ。島田清田(きよた)の孫。少外記,大宰少弐(だざいのしょうに),典薬頭(かみ)などを歴任。貞観(じょうがん)元年(859)と元慶(がんぎょう)7年(883)に渤海(ぼっかい)国使の応接にあたる。白楽天風の漢詩にすぐれ,詩集「田氏家集」がある。菅原道真(みちざね)としたしく,娘の宣来子(のぶきこ)は道真の妻となった。寛平(かんぴょう)4年死去。65歳。号は田達音(でん-たつおん)。
