Holy Red Light District - Hijiri no Yuukaku

Japanese:
Holy Red Light District - Hijiri no Yuukaku

A humorous story. Published in 1757 (7th year of the Horeki era). Author unknown. The title comes from the idea of the three sages Confucius, Laozi, and Shaka being likened to tourists and having a night of fun. Guided by the owner of the brothel, Li Bai, Confucius plays with Daido Tayu, Laozi with Ozora Tayu, and Shaka with Kase Tayu, and eventually Confucius and Laozi have sex, but only Shaka escapes from the brothel with Kase Tayu and they joke about traveling to the equinox. The aim of this book is the unique idea of making the three sages humorous and vulgar, and the distinctive feature is that the prototype of the humorous storybook, which is written in a conversational style, can already be seen. A work that follows the style of this book is Torai Sanna's Sankyoshiki (1783).
