Wu Zixu - Goshisho

Japanese: 伍子胥 - ごししょ

A minister of the state of Wu during the Spring and Autumn period in China. His name was Yuan . After his father She and brother Shang were killed by King Ping of Chu, he fled to Wu, helped Wu defeat Chu, and dug up King Ping's tomb to get revenge . Later, when Wu defeated Yue, he tried to remonstrate with King Fuchai of Wu for not killing King Goujian of Yue, but was not accepted. He was later accused of slander and committed suicide. He died in 485 BC.

中国、春秋時代の呉の臣。名は員(うん)。父の奢と兄の尚が楚の平王に殺されたため、呉に奔(はし)り、呉を助けて楚を破り、平王の墓をあばいて復讐(ふくしゅう)した。のちに呉が越を破った時、呉王夫差が越王勾践を殺さなかったことを諫めていれられず、のち讒言(ざんげん)にあって自殺した。前四八五年没。
