Chinese historian and politician. He has served as professor at Southwestern United University and Tsinghua University. After the founding of the People's Republic, he became vice mayor of Beijing and held important positions such as representative of the National People's Congress and vice chairman of the China Democratic League, while also serving as director of the Chinese Historical Society. His work "The Records of Three Villages," co-authored with Deng Tuo and Liao Mosha, is said to be a satire of Mao Zedong's policies, and Yao Wenyuan wrote a critical essay on the historical drama "The Official Who Leaves Hai Rui" at Mao's instruction, which triggered the Cultural Revolution. 中国の歴史学者，政治家。西南聯合大学，清華大学の教授を歴任。人民共和国成立後は北京市副市長となり，全国人民代表大会代表，中国民主同盟副主席などの要職につくかたわら，中国史学会理事をも務めた。鄧拓，廖沫沙と共著の《三家村札記》は毛沢東路線を風刺するものといわれ，また歴史劇《海瑞罷官》に対しては，毛沢東の指示で姚文元が批判文を執筆し，それが文化大革命発動の引金となった。【山田敬三】
