Chinese historian and politician. He has served as professor at Southwestern United University and Tsinghua University. After the founding of the People's Republic, he became vice mayor of Beijing and held important positions such as representative of the National People's Congress and vice chairman of the China Democratic League, while also serving as director of the Chinese Historical Society.
