Huang Binhong (Huang Binhong)

Japanese: 黄賓虹 - こうひんこう（英語表記）Huáng Bīn hóng

1865‐1955
A contemporary Chinese painter. His given name is Zhi, his pen name is Binhong, and his pen name is Pu Cun. He was born in Yi County, Anhui Province. He began studying painting under Ni Binglie and Ni Yifu at the age of six. He was skilled in landscape paintings that captured the essence of Song and Yuan dynasty painting, with a sense of vitality in the blue and powerful colors, and a sense of elegance in the ancient world. Having studied in the West, he added a Western sensibility to traditional Japanese painting, establishing a world of painting that is both profound and gorgeous. As well as working on his creative endeavors, he also devoted himself to collecting valuable art historical materials. He published the Art Series and Shinshu Kokko Collection through Shinshu Kokkosha.

中国現代の画家。名は質，賓虹は字，号は樸存。安徽省黟（い）県の人。6歳のとき倪炳烈，倪逸甫について絵を学ぶ。宋元画の本質に迫り蒼勁の中に生動感があり，高古の中に瀟々とした味わいのある山水画を得意とした。彼は西欧に留学していることから伝統の国画に洋画の感覚を加味し重厚な中に華美な絵画世界を樹立した。創作にはげむとともに貴重な美術史料の収集にも精力を注いだ。神州国光社から美術叢書，神州国光集等を刊行した。
