This refers to a polymerization reaction carried out while the monomers are in the gas phase to synthesize polymeric compounds from the raw monomers. The polymerization initiator or catalyst is suspended in the gas phase by fluidizing the reaction system. The resulting polymer is obtained in the form of a fine powder. The advantage of this method is that no solvent or water is used for the reaction, so no equipment is required for separation or recovery. It is partially used in the manufacture of polyethylene.
