Japanese: 小稲半兵衛物 - こいなはんべえもの

A type of puppet theater and kabuki kyogen. A group of works based on the popular rumor that geishas Koina and Inanoya Hanbei from Otsu Shibayacho committed suicide by the pines of Karasaki around the Hoei period (1704-11). Some works are written as Kohina. The first adaptation was Karasaki Shinju, composed and performed by the first Miyako Icchu. On stage, kabuki premiered Eight Views of Lake Biwa Bundan (Biwa no Umi Hatsu Tsuke Bundan) at the Ogawa Kichitaro Theater (the northern theater) in Kyoto in July 1766 (Meiwa 3), and puppet theater premiered in October 1768 at the Amidaike Gate Theater in Osaka, with Tanaka Gocho's Keisei Naniwa Odamaki and in November at the Amidaike East Theater with Koina Hanbei Sato no Iroage (Koi no Hanbei Sato no Iroage) by Hachitami Heishi.

人形浄瑠璃，歌舞伎狂言の一系統。宝永(1704‐11)ごろ，大津柴屋町の芸子小稲と稲野屋半兵衛が唐崎の松のほとりで情死したという巷説による作品群。小雛と書く作もある。脚色の初めは初世都一中が作曲演奏した《唐崎心中》。舞台では歌舞伎で1766年(明和3)7月京の小川吉太郎座(北側の芝居)《琵琶湖八景文談（びわのうみはつけいぶんだん）》が，人形浄瑠璃で1768年10月に大坂阿弥陀池門前芝居で田中後調作《傾城浪花をだ巻》，11月に阿弥陀池東ノ芝居で八民平七作《小いな半兵衛　廓色上（さとのいろあげ）》が相ついで初演。
