Kanamaru-so

Japanese:
Kanamaru-so
A manor in Miyoshi County, Awa Province. It is identified with the area excluding the western part of Mikamo Town (present Higashi-Miyoshi Town), Miyoshi County, Tokushima Prefecture. In 1192, 20 areas were recognized as the property of Takashina Eishi (Tango no Tsubone), the favorite concubine of Emperor Goshirakawa, and her descendants, and Kanamaru Manor, which was the property of Rengeoin, is listed. However, it was not confirmed as the property of Tango no Tsubone or her descendants after that, and in 1231 it became the property of Henchiin Temple of Daigoji Temple, and thereafter it was passed down as the property of Henchiin Monzeki. During the Nanboku-cho period, a dispute arose between Henchiin Shoson and Sanboin Kenshun over the manor, and in 1345, Kenshun took over the reins after Shoson Ichigo, and a peace agreement was established. At that time, the manor was divided into the west, center, and east, and it is thought that it was handed down separately after Shoson and Kenshun. During the Nanboku-cho period, the area around this manor became a base for the Southern Court, and mountain warriors from Iyayama, such as the Sugo clan, who supported the Southern Court, were given official positions such as komonshoku and geshisho as a military supply center. However, in 1380, the Kanamaru komonshoku was given to the Nishiyama clan by a member of the Hosokawa clan, the Shugo of Awa, and by this time the area was under the control of the Northern Court.
