"Daughter of Orokko" - Orokko's daughter

…Born in Daishoji, Ishikawa Prefecture. While studying philosophy at the University of Tokyo, he became a member of the Shinshiso and Bungaku groups, and established himself as a novelist with Orokko no Musume, published in Bungeishunju in 1930, before dropping out of university. He also became seriously interested in mountain climbing, which he had been familiar with since elementary school, while attending First Senior High School. After the Second World War, he traveled both domestically and abroad, exploring the Jugal Himal in 1958 and carrying out an academic survey of the Silk Road in 1966, and wrote an excellent collection of travel essays. …
