Geimonshi (English: art and literature)

Japanese: 芸文志 - げいもんし（英語表記）yì wén zhì

A type of "zhi" in China's official histories. A classified catalogue of books from each era. It also gives us an insight into the academic system of each era. It began with the "Yiwenzhi" in the "Book of Han," which was based on Liu Xin's "Seven Abbreviations," and was inherited by later official histories, sometimes renamed "Jingjizhi." The "Yiwenzhi" in the "Book of Han" consists of the "Six Arts and Sciences Abbreviations," "Zhuzi Abbreviations," "Military Science Abbreviations," "Jitsu Sue Abbreviations," and "Fangji Abbreviations." After the "Jingjizhi" in the "Book of Sui," the classification system was established as a four-section division: the section on Classics, the section on History, the section on Children, the section on Children, and the section on Collections. 中国の正史のなかの〈志〉の一種。各時代に存在する図書の分類目録。またそれによって各時代の学術の体系をうかがうことができる。劉歆（りゆうきん）の《七略》にもとづく《漢書》芸文志にはじまり，ときに〈経籍志〉と名をあらためながら，後世の正史に継承された。《漢書》芸文志は六芸略，諸子略，詩賦略，兵書略，術数略，方伎略から成り，《隋書》経籍志以後，経部，史部，子部，集部の四部分類法に定着した。目録学【吉川忠夫】
