A former town in Mitsugi County in the southeastern part of Hiroshima Prefecture. Most of the area is made up of the hilly mountainous region of the Kibi Plateau. Rice is the main crop, but dairy farming and poultry farming are also carried out. There are also factories that manufacture furniture and plastics. Kui-no-Iwaumi (a natural monument) is located here. In March 2005, it was incorporated into Mihara City along with Yamato Town in Kamo County and Hongo Town in Toyota County. Area: 62.17 km2 .
